Ottoman military banner of the Sandjaq-type. It has three parallel strips in white silk on which 24 medallions in green and salmon pink with brocaded drawings in gold thread. The banner is bordered with a green band. A similar green band, but wider, divides the banner into two unequal parts and contains 13 cartouches with the creed, surrounded by zigzag lines. The main section shows 21 medallions of different sizes, the largest in the middle. The narrowest section is divided into three equal parts, each containing a medallion. The middle one is in the shape of a crescent moon and contains an inscription with a prayer; the inscriptions of the other two (which also appear six times in the main section) are not entirely clear.
