The decoration is made with a mold, with overlay and sculpted. Marks on the bottom and in the lid: Xia Shujun. Xia Shujun, born in 1963, began her career as a ceramist in 1978. After studying at the Academy of Applied Arts of Central China (from 1992), she acquired the official title of ceramics artist in 1995. She has since designed some hundred different teapot models, showing her fondness for flower and especially fruit forms. In 1991 and 1995, she participated in international festivals of mastery in ceramics in Hong Kong and Australia, where she won the gold medal.
