This chisel was part of a set of copper tools, found in situ in the tomb of Khasekhemwy during the excavations of W.M.F. Petrie (1899-1901). They were piled up in a copper dish, covered by a collapsed wall. Given the heavy looting of the tombs, it is remarkable that this set was found intact.
