This small funerary statue was discovered in a necropolis at Abydos during the excavations of W.M.F. Petrie in 1902. It belonged to the "prophet of Hathor" Petosiris, son of Djedhor. The uninscribed ushabti is characterised by a thick, shiny layer of glaze. The Art&History Museum owns four other shabtis of the same person (E.00485b-e).
