Votive objects in the shape of eyes and ears have been found in large numbers at Deir el-Bahri. They represent the eyes and ears of the divinity, in order to encourage him to listen to the request of the devotee.
Eye amulets were more specifically offered to the goddess Hathor, probably due to her role as protector of the Eye of Ra.
