Cowroid with hieroglyphs
Description
More images

The base of this seal amulet in the shape of a kauri shell carries a symmetrical composition of hieroglyphs: on each side of the papyrus “wAdj” and the sign “nfr” are signs of life “ankh”, placed in ovals that become one with the border. The signs above are hard to identify. Both the design and the shape of the cowroid are characteristic for the Second Intermediate Period (15-16th dynasty).
