The scarab was bought during the public sale of the MacGregor collection in London (1922). On the base, a cartouche with the throne name of Amenhotep III, “nb-maat-ra”, followed by the epithet “mry ntjr.w nb.w wAst”, ‘beloved by all gods of Thebes’.
