This beautiful amulet in green faience was part of the Leopold II collection. The goddess Sekhmet with the lioness head is sitting on a throne with openwork sides showing a pattern of snakes. The legs and feet are joined together. The piece has a striking detail: the goddess of Memphis is holding a sistrum on her knees. This musical instrument was used to soothe the goddess's fury during tranquillity rites.
