This plastered and painted wooden statue, which belonged to the collection of E. de Meester de Ravestein, probably decorated a coffin or a canopic chest. It depicts Sokar, the patron god par excellence of the Memphite necropolis. He has the shape of a falcon and was normally adorned with a crown with a sun disk and two feathers, supported by ram's horns. The bird of prey's wings are painted red with a decoration in the form of a net.
