The base of this scarab shows the hieroglyphs “kA” (soul) and “ra” (Ra), surrounded by four ‘Z’-shaped spirals placed in ovals. This composition is attested on scarabs from the late Middle Kingdom (late 12-13th dynasty) and this dating seems to be confirmed by the morphology of the scarab.
