The base of this scarab shows the goddess Sekhmet with a papyrus sceptre and a kneeling king wearing the Red Crown of Lower Egypt and holding a “Hs” vase. Below is the basket “nb” and above the bee and the sedge plant, forming the royal title “nswt bit”, ‘king of Upper and Lower Egypt’. The morphology of the scarab confirms a date in the 25th-26th dynasty.
