The base of this scarab shows the god Seth, winged like Ba’al. He drives the tip of his spear into the ground and kills the snake Apophis. Above, hieroglyphs refer to the throne name of Seti I (or Ramesses II?): “maät”, “re” and the sign “mr”, ‘beloved’.
