Bread and beer formed an important part of the diet of the ancient Egyptians. Therefore, they were often mentioned in offering lists on tomb walls and coffins, and donated as grave goods.
From the beginning of the Old Kingdom, wooden models depicting the production of bread and beer became a part of the tomb inventory.
This small model shows two women baking bread and a man carrying two jars.
